How it works

It’s simple

01

Book a call

Twenty minutes on Google Meet. Tell us what the business is and what is currently eating your week. By the end of it we both know whether this is worth doing.

02

We scope it

You find out what the work is and what it costs before anyone starts. No retainer and no minimum, unless you would rather have one.

03

It stops being your problem

The work happens, you hear from us when you need to decide something, and the rest of the time you are running your business.

Who we work with

Small businesses and creators.

Whether you get paid in invoices, tips, brand deals or sponsorships.
We’ve probably seen it before.

Software we work in

Already on something else? We’ll learn it or move you over, whichever makes more sense.

Pricing

Work chargedby the minute.

Most bookkeepers charge a flat monthly retainer whether they touch your file or not. We don’t. So 36 minutes of bookkeeping only costs you 36 minutes.

Solo $85/hr
2 to 5 employees $95/hr
6 or more employees $110/hr

Scales with complexity. No retainers, no minimums, no guessing.

Commonquestions.

We take it one year at a time, starting with the oldest. Review the books, sort the expenses, file it, move to the next. Going to the CRA before they come to you usually helps. No lectures here.

If you owe money, there's a penalty on the balance plus more for every month it sits. It gets worse if the CRA has already sent you a demand. If you don't owe anything, there's usually no penalty at all, so file regardless. The rates change, so we'll work out your actual number.

Both, doing different jobs. We keep your books current all year, a CPA files the return. We partner with a great one, or bring your own.

Yes. The CRA calls it business income no matter where it came from. T2125 if you're a sole prop. It also means you get to deduct what you spend to make it.

No W-8BEN on file. Without one Google can hold back up to 24% of everything you earn. With one, it drops to 0% and only touches your US-viewer money. Ten minutes inside AdSense. If they already took some, you can usually get it back.

Once your revenue passes $30,000. There are two ways to hit it: $30,000 in a single calendar quarter, or $30,000 across any four quarters in a row. It's a rolling window rather than a calendar year, and it's everything added together, not one platform at a time.

Cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, software, subscriptions, part of your phone and internet, home office, editors you hire, travel for shoots. Big gear gets depreciated instead of written off all at once.

$85 an hour solo, $95 with 2 to 5 employees, $110 with 6 or more. Tracked to the minute. No retainer, so a quiet month costs you almost nothing.

We make sure you don't. Every month we work out roughly what you'll owe so you can put it aside as you go.

Yes. We're remote and work across Canada.

That's most of what we do. Five years unfiled, shoebox of receipts, a QuickBooks file someone gave up on. All normal. Don't tidy it first.
